More than 100 delegates representing 16 countries
participated in PTP Europe's Annual Conference held in Angoulême, France, May
11-13, 2001. Delegates enjoyed local food, music and art exhibitions between the
conference sessions. The opening event allowed delegates an opportunity to
gather with participants of “European Week” which is an all-France program.
Mary Eisenhower, greeted the attendees of both events along with representatives
of “European Week” and the Mayor's office of Angoulême. The PTP Art
Exhibition was inaugurated with material from the PTP Cartoon Program held in
January. This exhibition consists of art pieces from 30 young cartoonists from
throughout Europe. It is available for all PTP Chapters; included is a catalogue
and slide presentation.

Debienare planned another event for the
PTP European Artistic Ambassador Program with a cultural exchange with the
Florida Chapters. The Angoulême/Coral Gables
"Art Festival" began September 1 and ran through September
10, 2001. This Artistic Ambassador initiative by Bob Ferreira, President,
Trustee and Artistic Ambassador Committee member between Florida and France was at
Chateau de Saint-Auvent and the Domaine de Chatelard.
