Gurdjieff &
Ouspensky, “The Fourth Way” a Workshop by Jerry Brewster
From 6:30 p.m. On the piano in the house, Freddy Lopez on
classical piano and Floyd Cox on jazz piano and around the
grounds our magician, Paul Carpenter.
At 7 p.m. Exercise with Qi Gong Master Aaron Gilmore.
At 8 p.m. Jerry Brewster has always maintained a very
strong interest in the spiritual world. He developed a
special interest in what has become known to the world as
the “Fourth Way”, a teaching based on an awakening to a
new level of consciousness that can be brought into the
matrix of our daily life. |
 |
|
This special teaching, brought by G.I. Gurdjieff, the
spiritual master, who combined the wisdom of the east with
the knowledge of the west and created this new system of
self observation and transformation that is especially
applicable to living in today’s modern world. One of his
major disciples, the famous writer and philosopher P.D.
Ouspensky, describes his meeting and work with Gurdjieff
in his extraordinary book “In Search of the Miraculous.”
In the early 1950’s Jerry Brewster met and studied with
teachers who were themselves direct disciples of Mr.
Gurdjieff, and continued working with them for many years.
Mr. Brewster will speak on the “Fourth Way” and its
relationship to living in the world of today. He will also
include a workshop in which some of the practical methods
of this system would be shown and discussed. The evening
will also include a showing of the movie “Meetings With
Remarkable Men” directed by Peter Brook, a film based the
early life of G.I. Gurdjieff and his search for truth.
Your contributions of food and
wine were and are always appreciated. |
